We work closely with the University of Nottingham to design and develop an innovative Initial Teacher Training programme linked with our specialism of teaching in urban settings.  All trainee teachers within our alliance meet every half term to engage with our ‘Urban Curriculum’, delivered by outstanding practitioners from our schools.  This is an opportunity for you to consider your development as a teacher within the urban context that you’re training in; past trainees have found these sessions invaluable. To view our testimonial videos, please navigate to the home page.

As a trainee teacher in our alliance you will learn from the best teachers, supported by a culture of direct and indirect coaching.  All trainee teachers observe outstanding teaching and get to work alongside the best teachers in an apprenticeship role.

We offer teacher training via the School Direct Route for both primary and many secondary subjects.  You will need to apply to train with us in the autumn term when UCAS opens for applications.

There’s also lots of information about the school direct route on the UCAS website.

UCAS Application

To apply to the programme you will need to complete the online application via UCAS and identify L.E.A.D. TSA as your preferred training provider. If you are successful after the University of Nottingham first stage process, you will be invited to attend a school-based interview at one of our partner schools.

Early Application

Last year the recruitment window closed nationally early in February. We are therefore urging all potential trainees to submit their applications early. If you would like any further information, please call Matt Lawrence on 0115 8225440 or email
